LÃND — ARTISTIC RESIDENCY

The Lãnd invited two artists and two product designers, and the residency began with visits to the Ecolã and Burel Factory. One artist and one designer were assigned to work at each factory. The artist and her designer colleague worked at Ecolã, the more traditional factory with different types of resources, offering "more space to innovate and make a difference." The residency lasted for nine days, but due to the daily activities they were involved in, the time quickly reduced to five days for designing and producing. At the factory, what intrigued the artist the most were the dead fibers, as there were numerous bags of them, which were the result of combing the finished blankets. She thought of giving them a new purpose, considering that in her pieces, there is no waste and her process is sustainable. By working with wet felting and needle felting, she managed to revive and reuse the dead fibers.
